This paper presents the results of tests conducted on freshly-cut logs and lumber during the seasoning period to verify the effectiveness of Deltamethrin on insect control. The tests were carried out in Quedas do Iguaçú, Paraná (southern region of Brazil) and Breves, Pará (northern region of Brazil) during the-dry and rainy seasons, and used different species of wood and insecticide/fungicide combinations. The results allow us to conclude that when Deltamethrin is used in a concentration above 0.02% a.i. it is as effective as or better than Aldrin at 0.5% a.i.
