In order to use existing wooden structures for a long term, it is necessary to evaluate appropriately the damage degree of bio-deterioration of the structural performance including the members and joint systems. As one for them, it is necessary to estimate more accurate the single shear strength performance of screw joints with decay. Therefore, we proposed the model considering the yield strength due to difference of the decay depth. On this model, the sound layer and three different decayed layers (multi-layer) were separated according to the damage degree. The estimated values by proposed model were compared with the single shear strength of screw joints with decay using Todomatsu (Abies sachalinensis). As a result, it was found that the good fit between the average value of the experimental result and estimating value of proposed model. In addition, compared to the existing (single layer) model, the accuracy of estimating strength of early deterioration that is considered usable was able to be improved.
